Anne Kelsey is available as a motivational speaker to a variety of groups including Assisted Living Facilities, Women's Clubs, Church Organizations, Newcomers Clubs, and Libraries, among others.
Dare to Write presentations are fun and engaging. Her presentations focus on the value of writing, and encouage everyone to write, even if it is just a little bit. Audience members participate in a simple writing exercise and discover for themselves the importance of writing over more fleeting forms of communication such as phone calls and one-on-one conversations.
Anne's presentation shows how stories from her own great, great, great grandmother's memior can provide unique insight to future generations.Anne's presentations also include sharing parts of her personal family memoirs. Her great, great, great grandmother's memory of soliders returning from the Civil War in 1814 as well as a harrowing account of crossing the country by wagontrain in the 1830's. From her grandfather's memoir, Anne reads aloud his experiences hacking through the jungles of Central America in the 1930's, where he encountered natives, animals and insects and used his wits and physical skill to survive life in the bush. These stories and others serve to highlight the lasting impact of everyone preserving a piece of their own family history.
